A day in the life of FLD Gus, Future Leader Dog for the Blind.
Friday, November 5, 2010
MORNING WALK, just over two miles.
Incorporated stopping (staying in a "stand"), "sit" and "down" from the heel position, "meet and greet," and, as always, "right" and "left" turns.
Several short (5-10 minutes) sessions sprinkled throughout the day. Worked on "leave it," "mat," and "stay."
AFTERNOON WALK, half-mile walk to the park.
Playtime with Gypsy.

On passenger-side floor of the van during a forty-five minute drive to visit a friend, who has cats!
DINNER AT A RESTAURANT.
More "settling" and "leave it."
Premier showing of "Land of Opportunity" at the Michigan Union in Ann Arbor. More "meet and greet" practice. It was interesting to note that FLD Gus intently watched the beginning of the documentary about post-Katrina New Orleans, but then he decided to sleep the rest of it out.
|A very tired FLD Gus.|
FLD Gus was a very tired puppy on the late drive home; he let us sleep in until 7:45 a.m. this morning!
