Poetry: Haiku Precipitation


late night shower

listen to the rain
rinse away the ragweed spores
humid head release


Goldenrod, not ragweed, along the Au Sable River.

  2. That's not ragweed. That's goldenrod, a native wildflower.

  3. catsav--thank you for setting me straight! I fell prey to this common misidentification. When the goldenrod blooms the ragweed sends out its pollen, which IS the source of fall hayfever allergies. As kids, we always called the goldenrod "ragweed." No longer, thanks to you!
